Motorist Drags Trooper After Traffic Stop

FLINT (WWJ/AP) - Authorities say a motorist dragged a Michigan State Police trooper while apparently fleeing from a traffic stop in Flint.

Police say it happened after a traffic stop Wednesday night in the area of Dupont Street and Pasadena Avenue, when the motorist sped off, dragging the trooper.

Police told dispatchers over radio that the injured trooper believed he may have suffered a broken arm, The Flint Journal reported. He was taken to an area hospital and is expected to recover.

Police say the motorist, who was not named, surrendered after being found at Max Brandon Park.
