EASTPOINTE (WWJ) - Sunshine, rock-n-roll and classic cars; you can see and hear them all on Gratiot Avenue in Eastpointe as they prep for Cruisin' Gratiot.

WWJ's Sandra McNeill caught up with cruisers parked and ready near Gratiot and Nine Mile.

A woman from Clinton Township was out with her 1970 Challenger; "It's called Panther Pink ...like the Pink Panther ... yes, pink and purple.

She and her husband met in the unlikeliest of places ... cruising Gratiot. "Right up here on 10 Mile and Gratiot, we were stopped at the light and he said, "Nice car," and I said "Thanks," and he said if you ever need work done on the car he works at a Wellborn Buick," she said. "So, I chased him down."

Linda Woodridge has one of the most eye-catching cruisers.

"It's a hot pink '59 T-Bird, 352 engine, hard top," said
"It's gets a lot of attention ... people are always honking and whistling, waving. Puts a smile on people's faces when I drive by," said Woodridge, laughing about the pink fuzzy dice she sports in the car.

Larry Joseph will cruise in his '67 GTO; "I just love the old classic cars; 50s and 60s from those days and cruising Gratiot is what I did, so I still do," he said.

A record number of people have signed up for this years cruise.
