I Want To Golf With You

By: Mike Stone

How many of you golfers have actually had the chance to golf on a course that has held a major championship. Not many I am sure. Yes, there are some who might have had the privilege of playing Oakland Hills, and there is another group who have tried their skill on the TPC of Michigan, which used to be the home of the Senior Players Championship. However how many of you have had the opportunity to play those courses the day after a major. Hardly any of you.

Now is your chance. The 2012 U.S.Senior Open takes place at Indianwood Country Club in Lake Orion, July12-15.  But with just a small donation to a great charity you can test your skill on the course when it's at its hardest. Hello Sunday pin placements. And if that's not enough of an enticement, you get to play with me. Ok, I am not a great golfer, I will be lucky to break 100,but I promise to look you in the eye, answer all of your questions about sports and even give you the "inside scoop" on Sara,Bill, and of course Wojo.  I promise we will have a good time; I won't bore you with Bruce Springsteen stories unless you request them and if you want I will even buy you a Bloody Mary. So I encourage you to read the rules for the contest and enter. After all you can save a youngsters life and play Indianwood with me. That is a great combination isn't it.

Text SCREEN to 50555 between Monday, June 11 and Thursday, July 5, 2012, you'll be donating $10 to 97.1 The Ticket's Student Heart Check Program and you'll be entered to win one round of golf with Stoney on July 16, 2012. Your $10 donation will pay for one student to have a Beaumont Cardiac Screening to make sure their heart is healthy enough for sports. Note – Message and data rates may apply.

Over the past seven years, more than 29 young people in Michigan (usually student athletes) have died from "sudden cardiac death".
