EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Michigan State has given athletic director Mark Hollis a new contract.

The school announced Monday that Hollis’ base salary will increase to $600,000 from $395,000. He’ll get a longevity payment of $100,000 each July and is also eligible for an annual performance bonus of $50,000.

Hollis will always have a five-year deal renewing each summer to replace the contract that was to expire at the end of 2016.

Street & Smith’s SportsBusiness Journal named Hollis athletic director of the year last month. He’s helped organize innovative events such as the Spartans’ basketball game on an aircraft carrier last season.
