Red Wings And Darren Helm Agree On 4-Year Deal

The Detroit Red Wings and forward Darren Helm have agreed to a four-year deal worth $8.5 million, the team said.

Helm, would have become a restricted free agent on July 1st. Helm has been a full-time player with the Red Wings since the 2009-2010 season. Last season Helm played in 68 games while sitting out with a hamstring injury.

Helm returned to the Red Wings in the Stanley Cup Playoffs but has his playoff stint cut short when his left forearm was cut by a skate and tore a tendon.
