Winning Futures Sets Free Breakfast For Potential Mentors, Volunteers

DETROIT -- Winning Futures, a nonprofit mentoring and goal-setting program for middle and high school students in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties, will hold an informational breakfast for potential mentors and volunteers Wednesday, June 27.

The event runs from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at the Detroit Golf Club, 17911 Hamilton Road, Detroit. It will be hosted by WXYZ Channel 7's Chuck Stokes.

At this breakfast, guests will discover how they may directly impact the future workforce of Michigan, the amazing influence mentors and community members make on students in Winning Futures by helping them plan their futures, and the many ways volunteering as a mentor, leading the organization as a board member, providing resources as a business partner, or investing in youth as a donor can positively affect the community.

All mentors take part in a program training and orientation session prior to entering the classroom. Activities and lessons are planned and outlined, so all mentors need to do is show up at their class and interact with their students. Winning Futures' unique program makes it that simple and rewarding to create a difference in a child's life.

The event is sponsored by Extra Credit Union, Davenport University and Entrepreneurial Operating System.
