Wayne County Offers Free Household Hazardous Waste Disposal In Dearborn

DEARBORN -- A free Household Hazardous Waste Day for Wayne County residents takes place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 23 at Henry Ford Community College, 5101 Evergreen. Proof of Wayne County residency is required.

Only household generated products from Wayne County residents will be accepted, including   paints, stains, dyes, glue, carpet cleaner, furniture polish, bathroom cleaners, stain removers, solvents, pharmaceutical waste, fertilizer, lawn and garden chemicals, antifreeze, motor oil, automotive and dry cell batteries, fluorescent bulbs, fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, and mercury thermometers.

Items not accepted include explosives, ammunition, shock sensitive materials, household trash, refrigerators, microwaves or other appliances, tires, yard waste, and concrete.
