Motorcyclist Dies After Collision With Deer

BERGLAND TWP. (AP) - Authorities say a 73-year-old motorcyclist has died after colliding with a deer in Michigan's western Upper Peninsula and being thrown from the bike.

State police say Charles M. Evans of Gogebic County's Marenisco Township wasn't wearing a helmet at the time of Monday's crash in Ontonagon County's Bergland Township. Police say he had head injuries and was taken by helicopter to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The Ontonagon County sheriff's department and others assisted state police at the scene.
