'Magic Mike' Boosts Biz For Motor City's 'Men In Motion'

DETROIT (WWJ) - "Magic Mike" -- It's a new film that debuts Friday about a male Chippendale who finds true love.  And as WWJ's Kathryn Larson found out, there are some Motor City Magic Mikes who really are living the movie.

Meet Mr. Sensation and his buddy Mr. Centerfold, two of Erotic Image Entertainment's "Men In Motion."

Mr. Sensation, a 21-year-old from Sterling Heights, is hoping the movie will change how male dancers are portrayed.

"I think after this movie, to be honest, it's going to be a little bit easier because It's going to be exposed, what I do. I'm not as dirty as most people would think, as stripper terms," he said.

Mr. Centerfold, a 23-year-old from Southgate, has been doing this for just a month and is paying for his schooling with thanks to his "Magic Mike" moments.

"It's really more of a marketing thing, it definitely helps a lot, especially with big actors like Channing Tatum and Matthew McConaughey, you know, both great looking guys so that definitely helps us a lot," he said.

Thanks to the new film, their business has been blitzed. The men say they've been seeing a 50 percent increase in their numbers.

"Last week I had 10 bachelorette myself within a day, day and a half. Everything has doubled. Since the trailer of 'Magic Mike,' everyone is starting to realize what we really do," said Mr. Sensation.

And just like in the movie, both performers are single and looking for love. But is it hard for them to find a date?

"Usually the first question I get is 'Do you go full nude?' And I don't because that's just my personal preference," said Mr. Centerfold.

And while they haven't found the right woman just yet, they've both had their share of crazy situations working in the business.
