I was listening to Mike Valente on “The Ticket” recently and he said something that seemed to put this year’s Tigers team in persepective. They aren’t bad enough to say this season as been a disaster so far..nor have they been good enough to say they seem to be on their way. They seem to be just meandering between ok and not so ok. I think Miguel Cabrera and Prince Fielder have been producing as well was can be hoped, but it’s the other hitters in the line up. Brennan Boesch has been little help and Alex Avila hasn’t stayed healthy long enough to make any real difference. Austin Jackson has been a pleasant addition now that he’s back and of course Quintin Berry has been a god send. But I’ll reserve final judgement on Berry. I look for the Tigers be to active before the trading deadline if they can find the right deal to get an extra bat. I’m afraid to get anyone of real value…the club will have to trade away a prize prospect.
