Plenty Of Bang Available For 4th Of July Revelers

DETROIT (WWJ) - With Michigan's new relaxed fireworks laws in place, there's plenty of big bang available for your 4th of July buck.

Despite complaints about the noise in some neighborhoods and communities like Warren cracking down on backyard big bang fireworks, plenty of metro Detroiters are putting their money where their holiday spirit is.

Eddie Samona of Sky High Fireworks said some metro Detroiters are spending $700 to put on their own fireworks show with a top-of-the-line package called The Godfather.

"Yeah, I mean they wanna spend $700, you're gonna impress the neighbors," Samona said. "It's got fountains, it's got all the high-impact stuff; that black cat stuff that was not legal in previous years."

Samona operates five locations, including one on Woodward and Manchester in Highland Park.
