Firefighters Control Blaze At Farmington Hills Apartment Complex

FARMINGTON HILLS (WWJ) - A fire that broke out at a Farmington Hills apartment complex early Tuesday morning is now under control.

WWJ's Mike Campbell said the fire broke out around 5:30 a.m. at the Freedom Village apartments on Freedom Road, near Orchard Lake and Grand River.

Flames were reported coming from the balcony of a second floor unit, and apparently spread to another unit nearby.

Fire officials say everyone got out of the building safely and no residents or firefighters were injured.

It's not yet clear how the fire started.
