Body Found In Genesee County Lake

FENTON TWP. (WWJ) -  A State Police underwater recovery crew have found a body in Lake Fenton, south of Flint.

Captain Terence Green with the Genesee County Sheriff’s Department sayidthey believe the remains may be a 25-year-old Flat Rock man who disappeared while swimming Wednesday night.

“He was on a boat with a group and he jumped into the lake attempting to cool off. And he never resurfaced,” Green told WWJ Newsradio 950.

The man’s name has not been released.

Green said they were still trying to get the body out of the lake after 3 p.m. Thursday.  He said they are still working to identify it.

This incident follows another in Fenton Township this past weekend.  Police said an 11-year old boy died on Marl Lake while playing on an inflatable bouncer.
