Lions' Fairley Kicks Off Annual Community Kickball Tourney

DEARBORN HTS. (WWJ) - A fun afternoon for dozens of kids who got the chance to play kickball with Detroit Lions defensive tackle Nick Fairley, for his annual Community Kickball Team Tournament.

Fairley tells WWJ's Beth Fisher that he likes working with the kids.

"I just love coming out ... give back to the community, having fun with the kids, you know this is something they are going to remember forever, coming out here, just playing kickball," Fairley said.

Leslie Rudnick's kids played at the Dearborn Heights field.

"It's fun to have the NFL players here as their coaches," said Rundnick.

The Lions' Cliff Avril and Sammy Hill also took part in kickball tourney at field.

I liked it, I want to do it again," said Aaron Chandler Simms after playing with Sammy Hill.
As for his DUI arrest, Fairley says he's moving on, making better decisions and trying to learn from his mistakes.

Fairley says he looks forward to the new football season and lots of wins for the Detroit Lions.
