Westland Man Drowns In Pleasant Lake

WEST BLOOMFIELD, Mich. (WWJ) - West Bloomfield police are investigating a drowning in Pleasant Lake. It happened around 7:30 Sunday night.

A 24-year old Westland man tried to swim to a pontoon boat about 100 feet from shore. He made it about one-third of the way when he began to struggle in the water and disappeared.

Family members, who were on the pontoon boat, tried to find him. A dive team did find him an hour later. He was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
