BERKLEY (WWJ) - Authorities have released a composite sketch of a man who allegedly posed as a police officer in an effort to molest a young girl.

Police say that last Friday, July 6, two 12-year-old girls were approached by a man at a park near the Berkley Community Center.

The man, who identified himself as a police officer, said he had a report they were trying to light bushes on fire and asked them to empty their pockets to check for matches and lighters.

One of the girls said the man inappropriately touched her before leaving the area on foot.

The suspect is described as a white male, 5'8" to 5' 11" 180 to 220 lbs, with short dark hair and a "5 o'clock shadow." He was wearing a yellow shirt and khaki shorts and was holding a walkie-talkie type device.
