Lansing Lugnuts Host 4-H Science Day At Stadium

LANSING (AP) - The mysteries behind throwing a curve ball and keeping the baseball field green will be hot topics Sunday during 4-H Science Day at Cooley Law School Stadium.

During the event, a Lansing Lugnuts pitcher will explain the physics behind pitching sliders and curveballs, and a kitchen tour will include information about food safety. There also will be a turf grass demonstration.

Tuesday is the deadline for people to buy tickets for the event at www.lansinglugnuts.com for those who want to enter at noon for the pregame demonstrations.

Fifteen science stations will be in place until the seventh inning. Anyone attending the game will be able to check out the science stations, which will include companion animals, information about insect lifestyles and water quality, and other topics.
