Possible Human Remains Found In Detroit Park

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit Police are trying to figure out if bones found at a park on Detroit's northwest side are in fact human remains.

Police say a citizen was walking in Eliza Howell Park, located in the area of Fenkell and Telegraph, Wednesday when she observed what appeared to be a human body part.

Detroit Police Department's Homicide, along with a Michigan State Police's cadaver dog, arrived on the scene to investigate and found skeletal remains.

According to reports, several bones including an arm and leg were found. It is unclear how long the remains may have been in the park.

Police are now awaiting the Medical Examiner's determination on whether the remains are human.
