Rock-Tossing Teens Arrested

LYON TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - Two Oakland County teens are facing charges after allegedly throwing rocks at cars along 8 Mile Road.

According to authorities, two vehicles were hit by rocks that were thrown from a railroad overpass around midnight Tuesday. No one was hurt but the vehicles were damaged.

An early morning search didn't turn up the culprits, but Sheriff deputies found the 17-year old and 18-year old when they were allegedly on their way to throw more rocks on Wednesday.

The teens who were identified by witness, were taken into police custody. They were questioned before being released to their parents.

The two, both Lyon Township residents, are expected to be charged with malicious destruction of property.  Their names have not been released.
