Would you trade Quintin Berry for Placido Polanco straight up right now? That’s the question tweeted to all of my followers earlier this week. I felt forced to after weeks of reading texts and fielding calls of people asking to trade for Polanco. Tiger fans are in such desperation of a second baseman they want to bring the 36 year old back. The majority of people had no idea how Polanco was even playing this year. They just remember this oddly shaped player who rarely struck out. A player who was solid in the field and everyone loved. The image stuck in their mind is a short player with a body type that resembles a teletubby jumping for joy as he rounds second base in the 2006 ALCS. I also loved Placido Polanco but those days are over. Polanco is batting .260 with 2 hrs 19 RBI and a .302 OBP in 77 games this year. I know Tiger fans love Polanco and Berry so I gotta ask…would you trade Quintin Berry for Placido Polanco?
