BINGHAM FARMS — Members of the Bingham Farms city council, Oakland county executives, state lawmakers and other community leaders joined Just Energy, a leading energy retailer in North America, to celebrate the opening of a new call center in Bingham Farms at a ribbon-cutting event Thursday.

The new office is expected to create 130 new jobs locally over the next two years.

The new call center, located at 30300 Telegraph Road, will be staffed with more than 110 full-time customer service positions with the remaining positions to comprise administration, recruitment and senior management roles. The office will oversee Just Energy’s Midwest Region, which includes Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio.

“We welcome Just Energy and its employees to the Village of Bingham Farms. We support the company’s continued growth in the energy industry and look forward to the local economic stimulus to be gained by way of new job creation,” said Delores Tripp, President of the Bingham Farms Village Council.

The selection of Bingham Farms is largely due to the State’s updated tax code and access to a quality workforce.

“Our search for the right community partner was extensive and we were very impressed with what Michigan, and Bingham Farms in particular, had to offer,” said Ken Hartwick, CEO and president of Just Energy. “We are pleased to be a more permanent part of the community and we look forward to making a significant contribution to the economic well-being of the region.”

Just Energy already has received strong interest from area residents about open positions at the call center. Interested applicants should visit or call (248) 792-3220 for more information.
