Man Shot, Set On Fire In Detroit

DETROIT (WWJ) – Police say a man is clinging to life after being shot and then set on fire at a home on Detroit’s northeast side.

WWJ’s Vickie Thomas said the incident happened around 4:20 a.m. Thursday at a home on Knodell Street, near Gratiot Avenue and French Road.

The man was reportedly shot several times, doused with lighter fluid and set on fire.

Not much information on the victim is known, other than he is about 35-years-old.

Early reports indicated that the man had died, but Detroit Police Sgt. Eren Stephens said he is in critical condition at Detroit Receiving Hospital.

No word on a motive or any suspects. Police say an investigation is ongoing.
