Quintin Berry on Stoney And Bill

By: Bill McAllister

On Thursday's Stoney and Bill Show we were joined by Quintin Berry of your Detroit Tigers. Sitting in for Stoney was Jamie Samuelsen who asked 'Q'  how life in the 'Bigs' is better than life in the Minor Leagues. He says, "The spread's pretty good, I'm not eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches anymore." Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Quintin, who by the way, found out from us that he was starting Thursday's game in left field and batting second, also said he "started thinking about going back to school" at the beginning of the 2011 season when he realized he would spend another year in the minors.

I love this guy's enthusiasm and the fans seem to agree. Whether it's clapping as he gets on base or celebrating another stolen base, Quintin Berry always seems grateful for the opportunity. When asked about  the fans he says, "I love every minute of it. I try to interact with them as much as possible.
