70-Year-Old Woman Will Stand Trial In Death Of Toddler

HILLSDALE (WWJ/AP) - A 70-year-old woman will stand trial in the death of a 10-month-old boy killed when a minivan rear-ended the Amish horse-and-buggy he was riding in.

The Hillsdale Daily News reports  that a pre-trial hearing was held Wednesday in Hillsdale County District Court for Doris Jean Johns. She's charged with a moving violation causing death.

The young boy, Michael Steury Jr., was thrown from the buggy May 29th in Camden Township, near the Ohio and Indiana state lines.

A jury trial for Johns is scheduled for Aug. 28.
