Prayer Vigil Honors Victims Of Colorado Shooting
SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) - A prayer vigil was held Sunday afternoon for the victims of the Colorado shooting rampage. The vigil included Rev. D. Alexander Bullock, head of the Change Agent Consortium, and others at the AMC Star Southfield.
WWJ Newsradio 950's Beth Fisher reports the group involved in the vigil is also calling for a ban on assault weapons.
"We need a change in policy -- it does not stand to reason why anyone needs access to the kind of firepower that would allow or basically, domestic terrorism," Bullock said.
While the owner of Rick's Firearms Academy, Rick Ector, said he extended his condolences to the people of Colorado, he said he doesn't agree with a ban on assault weapons.
"We really think that those efforts are misguided, they will not stop madmen from acquiring a firearm in the future," Ector said.
