Macomb OU INCubator Sets Social Media Campaign Session: The Macomb-OU INCubator will present "How to Run a Social Media Campaign: Marketing That is Affordable and Effective for Your Small Biz" on Thursday, Aug. 9 from noon to 1 p.m. at the INCubator, 6633 18 Mile Road in Sterling Heights. Presenter Sola Obayan is an online marketing specialist with more than 13 years of experience in her field. As owner and principal consultant at BTO Solutions LLC, she develops and executes integrated solutions for growing brands. Her mission is to create a powerful online presence for all Michigan-based businesses. She is also the founder of Social Media is a Party!, a bi-monthly event designed to demonstrate the power of social media to local professionals in a fun and laid back environment. "Remodeling for Energy Efficiency" Workshop For Existing Homes: The Detroit Regional Chapter of the United States Green Building Council, in conjunction with the Energy and Environmental Building Alliance, are presenting a one day workshop offering strategies to improve energy efficiency in existing homes. The event will be held Tuesday August 7 at Lawrence Technological University in Southfield. The cost is $125 per participant and registration is available online at www.EEBA.org. Learn the fundamentals of air, heat and moisture flow and see how they can be applied to remodeling existing homes to make them more efficient, safe, healthy, durable and comfortable. Apply the building science to common remodel projects such as roofing, re-siding, weatherization, kitchen & bath replacements, windows, foundation & basements and HVAC upgrades. Identify process changes needed to cost-effectively implement energy efficiency in remodel projects. And learn about the successes of other remodelers who have benefited from implementing energy efficiency objectives into remodel projects. The workshop is based on widely accepted industry information such as the Energy Star Home Advisor program, LEED for Homes, local weatherization programs and manufacturers' best practice guides. Merit Network Offers Three Webinars On IPv6 Implementation: Ann Arbor-based Merit Network Inc. has announced a series of Lunch and Learn Qebinars on IPv6 presented by NYSERNet, New York's research and education network. These one-hour sessions discuss essential topics that are among the first that organizations must consider when planning for IPv6 deployment. The content of the webinars is drawn partially from the curriculum of a NYSERNet-led IPv6 workshop that Merit will host in Ann Arbor on November 1-2. BBC Sets Webinar On DoD Funding: BBC is sponsoring a Webinar on writing winning Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer grant requests to the Department of Defense. The Webinar will be held from 1 to 3 Eastern time Thursday, July 26. Attendees will find out if their company or business idea is eligible to seek federal funding through the Department of Defense's SBIR/STTR program.
