Gas Station Clerk Accused Of Murdering Customer Goes On Trial Today

DETROIT (WWJ) - A Detroit gas station attendant accused of killing a customer during a dispute over the price of condoms will be in court Monday.

23-year-old Ibrahim Saleh will go on trial for allegedly killing 24-year-old Michael Haynes back in March. Wayne County prosecutors have said Haynes knocked over several shelves of merchandise at the BP gas station on Fenkell after he and Saleh had a disagreement over the price of condoms. Then, Saleh allegedly shot Haynes in the back.

There were some protests at the gas station in the weeks following the shooting. If convicted, Saleh faces life in prison.
