Ford Field Will Host Lions Kickoff Luncheon, August 29

Allen Park, Mich.-The 16th annual Detroit Lions Kickoff Luncheon hosted by the Detroit Economic Club will be held on Wednesday, August 29, at Ford Field. Last year's event was sold out with more than 1,000 attendees.

Lunch and team introductions begin at 12:00 noon in the Ford Field atrium followed by the program that will feature Lions' head coach Jim Schwartz and the 2012 Detroit Lions. Attendees are encouraged to arrive and be seated by 11:45 a.m. The masters of ceremonies will be the Lions' play-by-play team of Dan Miller and Jim Brandstatter.

A portion of the proceeds from the luncheon will go to Detroit Lions Charities, the Lions' non-profit foundation that has donated more than $6.2 million to charities in Michigan. The primary recipient of Charities' proceeds from the luncheon will be Think Detroit PAL youth football, which includes approximately 3,200 Detroit children playing in the nation's largest after-school tackle football league.

The event is open to the public. Tickets for the luncheon are $70 per person and $700 for tables of 10. The first 750 tickets sold are assured a Lions' player or coach as the 11th person at the table.
