Bad Habits
These guys drive me nuts. Just when you think the Tigers have solved their offensive problems....they head south. In their last home stand the club got 2-out clutch hitting and scored when they had a chance. But over their the current road trip they have revereted back to the same old bugaboo. Hitters have once again gone to swinging at high pitches..all looking to hit one out of the park. If you don't make a pitcher bring the ball down by laying off the crummy stuff...they will continue to throw it. Oh, and another thing...when a pitcher is staying away from you...go the other way. By trying to pull everything...it simply becomes a harmless ground ball and an easy out.
About Anibel Sanchez. Although he lost his first outing with the Tigers...I thought I saw enough to make me at least a little optimistic that he is capable of being better. As for fielding his position, I rate him right along the Doug Fister as being more than just a statue after throwing a pitch.
Omar Infante has hit some frozen ropes since coming back, but unfortunately they have been right at someone. It's only a matter of time before he gets it together. As for his fielding...I have seen enough to make me believe he's better than anyone else who's been tried at 2nd base.
