Big Brother 14 Episode Eight Breakdown: All You Need Is One

America, how exciting has this week been? We've seen two of Team Britney's houseguests leave. I know I was excited to see them go. Willie went crazy and Jojo is crazy. We saw another week where a nominated houseguest redeems themselves and wins HOH. We're now approaching one month of Big Brother and it seems like only yesterday that it started.

Power Drunk

I was glad to see Shane win HOH, however I wasn't excited to see Britney gloat about it. As a coach I would celebrate but not in front of everyone else because next week Britney's lone houseguest is ineligible to compete in the HOH. I liked how there was the giant elephant in the HOH room -- none of the houseguests wanting to leave or continue a casual conversation. I understand it's a game, but people need to lighten up. That moment was Shane's moment and everyone's mind was on the game.

I thought Britney was a bit power drunk in this episode. She should have been motivating Shane and see where his head is at. She would have realized that Shane & Frank & Boogie had a deal. Britney could then take that opportunity to remind Shane thatdeals are meant to be broken in the house. Especially to a player that is equally as strong.

Shanielle Is In Full Effect

I've dubbed the couple Shanielle. I think it would have been weird to call them something else. If Jojo had stayed we would have Shojo. Shane is definitely using this to his advantage, while poor naive Danielle is clueless. I hope Dan is reminding her that this is a game. She's here to win $500,000 and not a man. Plus I wouldn't be surprised to see Shane go for Ashley sooner or later.

I thought it was interesting to hear Danielle's thoughts of Jen telling everyone she's a lesbian. You knew Wil was gay, how is it different in treating a woman who's gay? But in this Big Brother House they've definitely brought a bunch of different characters and it would have been crazy if it became heated. You know how Danielle brought up religion, saying it's not right. TJen wouldn't have any of it and Danielle blows it out of proportion. But sadly these houseguests are playing nice. Which I think is a good thing --although it's always interesting to see people clash.

Coaches Are "Feelin' The Burn"

How awkward was this week's coach's competition? The short shorts and all the thrusts, it was a bit too much for me. I have a suspicion that even though Dan said he wasn't going to throw this competition, he threw it on the last game. The reason being that it makes Danielle safe next week and it throws a wrench in Shane's strategy. I was surprised to hear the coaches still had the option of switching houseguests. I thought that was a one-time thing. Eventually that may come as an advantage to a coach (i.e. Britney & Dan) in the future. But alas I'm theorizing. Also what was up with Boogie's remark of Dan's tongue and kissing women back in Michigan. I wonder how Chelsea (Dan's wife) feels about it.

Anyone who's gone to college or still is or just graduated can relate to how Ian was feeling about receiving the money from Boogie. I know that money would help pay a nice little chunk of my student loans. It was noble of Frank to opt out of receiving any money and telling Boogie to give the money to Ian and Jen. Which is a great strategy, Frank is being selfless, when we all know he's unemployed and could use that money too. He also downplays Boogie's favoritism to Frank at the same time. Or am I just over thinking this?

Oh so I completely forgot that Boogie had said "Cereal & Salmon," I was just thinking about what I'd want to eat if I was put on slop. But I guess the rest of America probably caught that. Ian is one crazy man for volunteering to do slop again, however that strategy wouldn't work on me. I enjoy eating food and I would want to have energy for the competitions.

Chilltown 3.0 Is Safe Again

I'm not looking forward in seeing the next episode. We'll probably see the classic "Chilltown phone tree" and the ridiculous laughing. Shane is putting way too much trust in Frank & Boogie. Hopefully with the POV competition we'll see either Joe or Ashley win. My prediction is Shane will win his third consecutive POV as well as his third consecutive houseguest competition (excluding the coaches competition).

If I were Shane it would be in his best interest to "backdoor" Frank and take Joe off the block. Keep Ashley as a pawn and we'll most likely see a huge argument between Frank, Shane, Boogie & Britney. I would bring some popcorn to watch that.

My Coaches Rankings

  1. Britney - Even though she's slightly on a power trip, she's sitting pretty in the HOH room for this week. Next week will be another story.
  2. Boogie - Since his schmoozing of Shane worked, Boogie kept his top player, Frank from being nominated as well as his other houseguests.
  3. Dan - Safe, not a target this week and the budding showmance of Shanielle is in full effect.
  4. Janelle - How the mighty have fallen. She was able to save one of her own, however can she manage to keep them safe for another week? I'd also like to see how Janelle motivates Ashley from the depths of despair and Joe from not losing his cool.

My Choice For America's Vote - NO

Please America, I'm begging you, don't vote the coaches back into the game. I'm sick of another season of past houseguests competing for the $500,000. Boogie, Britney, Dan & Janelle were under the assumption they would be coaches. Let's keep it that way. Also I'm pretty sure Jodi, Kara & Jojo are in sequester waiting for their chance to get back into the game. I would be pleased to see either of Dan's eliminated houseguests come back to compete.

I've voted my maximum of 10 votes at cbs.com/bigbrother, you should too. We get to control whether we'd like to see this twist happen or not. If the twist were to happen I hope they reveal it in a "Pandora's Box" as well as bring back "Coup d'état" or the "Diamond Power of Veto." Or maybe bring in a fan of the show (me), who sent in an audition tape (which I did during the open casting call at the Detroit CBS 62 station) and is willing to jump into the game (I totally would). Anyways, I digress, I'm looking forward to seeing Joe yelling to try to win the POV and finding out whether Ashley will fight or continue to cry a river.

I'd love to hear your thoughts Michiganders & America! Hope everyone is having a Happy Monday!
