Why do many football coaches think they have to be jerks to do their jobs? Check out Mississippi State head coach Dan Mullens, who thought he had to lay down the law to the “tough” media in Starkville, Mississippi. He had an informal interview session following the Bulldogs first practice of the season. At around the 1:10 mark he is asked about what a couple of injured players were doing during practice. His response or lack thereof is a case of a guy who has to lay down the law in public. He does not rant or rave but I think he comes off as a pompous ass. Judge for yourself.

At least he did return to sit down and answer non injury questions.
