The Tigers improbable victory over the Indians was fun and thrilling. Some are calling it the greatest game they’d ever seen. Once the flush of the win goes away….you shoud remember it really didn’t mean a thing on the long-term. It didn’t win the pennant or the World Series…and doesn’t guarantee an win for their next game. I can appreciate the effort it took to win and perhaps the increase in team confidence, but yesterday is gone and they to continue to prove themselves.

I’m scratching my head. There are those in the media who feel Prince Fielder hasn’t lived up to his promise. I’m not sure why they think that way, it’s probably the money he’s being paid. But I feel he’s delivered remarkably well. Look at his production at the plate…his RBI total is remarkable when you consider he hits behind Miguel Cabrera. When Miggy is hot, he too is driving in runs…so logic would tell you it wouldn’t leave much for Fielder. As for his fielding at first, it has improved. Anyway when the Tigers acquired him, I didn’t hear  anyone say he’s a Gold Glove candidate. I for one think Prince has done just fine, especially when you consider he’s performed under a microscope this season.
