1. Miguel Cabrera. Not only is he moving into a spot where he might become the American League Most Valuable Player, but Cabrera has a shot at leading the AL in batting average, home runs and RBI. The Triple Crown” hasn’t been accomplished in either league since 1967.
2. Will the Tigers have the best record in the American League? It would have sounded crazy not-too-long ago, but the Tigers are only 4.5 games behind the Rangers for the best record in the AL.
3. The Austin Jackson factor. The Tigers are 52-36 in games Jackson has played this season. He has already reached career highs in home runs and RBI, and hasn’t made an error in 215 chances in center field. His OPS is up nearly 200 points from where it was entering this season.
