Winning Futures President, CEO Gets Michigan Tech Alumni Award: Michigan Technological University awarded Winning Futures president and CEO Kristina Marshall with its Outstanding Young Alumni award at its recent alumni recognition banquet. The university bestowed the award upon Marshall in recognition of her distinguished professional achievements while still under the age of 35. She was the sole recipient of the award. Marshall graduated from Michigan Tech in 1998 with a bachelor of science degree in business administration. She subsequently attended Oakland University where she attained a master's degree in educational leadership. In her 14 years at Winning Futures, Marshall has led the non-profit mentoring program through an impressive period of growth and expansion.  Under her leadership as president and CEO, the organization has impacted over 22,000 youth and distributed over $1.6 million in scholarships to students in Birmingham, Detroit, Harper Woods, Madison Heights, Pontiac, Sterling Heights, and Warren. In 2009, she launched the Winning Futures' curriculum nationally where it has now been implemented in schools and organizations in 38 states. In addition, Marshall has personally mentored 42 teens throughout her tenure at Winning Futures. She has also co-authored two workbooks for youth and two manuals for mentors and teachers. When not involved in her professional duties at Winning Futures, she serves as a keynote speaker on non-profit, education and youth development issues. Marshall resides in Troy with her husband Duane and son Trevor.
