If you’re searching for a great way to spend the Labor Day weekend, there are plenty events, festivals, and fairs for you to enjoy across metro Detroit.  Check out this list of fun, end-of-summer events.

33rd Annual Detroit Jazz Festival

Kick off your Labor Day celebration this year at the annual Detroit Jazz Festival.  The free festival runs from Aug. 31 to Sept. 3.  Some of the four-day festival’s featured jazz artists are Sonny Rollins, Tom Harrell, Poncho Sanchez, Kenny Garrett, Chick Corea and Gary Burton and dozens more.  For more information, click here.

Great Lakes State Fair

Spend Labor Day weekend at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi.  This year’s state fair will have everything from livestock exhibits and live entertainment to amusement rides and a Michigan brewery beer garden.  The fair runs from August 31 to September 3.  For more information, click here.

The Michigan Renaissance Festival

The Michigan Renaissance Festival returns this summer from August 18 through September 30.  The festival is open weekends and on Labor Day from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.  The “High Seas Adventure!” themed Labor Day weekend will include a wine and beer tasting, tattoo competition, and a perfect pirate dress contest.  For more information, click here.

The Michigan Peach Festival of Romeo

The Michigan Peach Festival runs from the Thursday before Labor Day through Monday.  The festival has food, entertainment, a car show, 5k and 10k run, and a parade along with dozens of other events.  For more information, click here.

Arts, Beats & Eats

The 15th Ford Arts, Beats & Eats festival in downtown Royal Oak is held from August 31 through September 3.  Come to downtown Royal Oak for the festival’s unique arts and crafts, live music and great food.  For more information, click here.

Old St. Patrick Labor Day Weekend Festival
