Chrysler Recalls SUVs Due To Air Bag Problem

AUBURN HILLS -- (WWJ) An airbag issue is prompting Chrysler to recall some brand-new 2013 Dodge Durango SUV's.

The company says some of the vehicles may have been built with the incorrect airbag occupant restraint control module.

"In the event of a side impact, rearward of the second row seat, the supplemental side air bag inflatable curtain may not deploy as intended, increasing the risk of occupant injury," said a statement on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration web site.

Chrysler says it will send notices to owners. Dealers will replace the faulty module. The recall is expected to begin next month.

Owners with questions can contact Chrysler at 1-800-853-1403.
