The Dream Team Vs. Dream Team Debate Finally Solved

By: Sara

Several debates came out of this year's Olympics. Is Usain Bolt the best athlete in the world (Denard Robinson is convinced he could beat him in the 40)? Is Michael Phelps the greatest Olympian ever? Which hoops team is better, the 1992 Olympic "Dream Team" or this year's gold medal winning team? You will have the opportunity to answer the third question this year, but only in virtual form. When NBA 2K13 hits shelves this fall, you can pit the '92 team against the 2012 team. Michael and Magic against Kobe and LeBron.

According to Jordan, there should be no debate. In a recent interview he said, "We'll never know, but let's talk about it. I know Kobe (Bryant) said some things early on and I responded to those. The '92 Dream Team, I felt, was a more well-rounded basketball team."

Jordon continued, "I think those guys (the 2012 team) were much more athletic than maybe we were at that particular point, but I would like to think we were a little bit smarter and well-groomed about playing at that level of basketball. Honestly, I don't think we would have had problems with them as much as they probably would have had (with us). I think our team would have been a lot better in terms of all-around basketball."

Initially, 2K Sports was not planning on including the 1992 and 2012 teams in the latest version of the game. Who pushed them to do it? Jay-Z! He is serving as the game's executive producer and even helped convince Charles Barkley to sign on and be included. NBA 2K13 comes out October 2.
