DETROIT (AP) – Luxury electric-car maker Fisker Automotive is recalling its Karma sedan to fix cooling fans that can catch fire. The recall follows the company’s probe into a car fire earlier this month in California.

The company says the fire had nothing to do with the car’s lithium-ion battery. The company saying it will replace those and another fuse installed for added protection.

The Karma costs $100,000 and can go 30 to 40 miles on battery power. Fisker has sold just over 1,000 since last fall.

The company received loan money from the U.S. government to develop its cars.
