DETROIT (WWJ/AP) – Gas prices in Michigan are still heading downward — for a change.

AAA Michigan says motorists are paying nine cents less for gas this week. That follows last week’s dip of nearly one cent. Michigan’s current statewide average is currently $3.898 per gallon, however, that is still 22.1 cents more than last year.

Prices were mostly flat in the prior week but had jumped earlier in Michigan amid pipeline and refinery problems affecting the Great Lakes region.
