Oakland County Economic Development Welcomes Alan Weber: Oakland County's Department of Economic Development & Community Affairs has hired Alan Weber as a business development representative. Weber, 29, will be responsible for the attraction and retention of Asian companies, advanced manufacturing companies and automotive suppliers. He replaces Chuck Holmes, a senior business development representative, who is retiring. Weber comes to the county from Ann Arbor Spark, which provides economic development services to Washtenaw and Livingston counties.  Weber called on local companies, organized site tours for companies seeking to expand and organized and hosted international delegations. Weber previously worked in Florida with the Putnam County Chamber of Commerce where he worked to provide membership benefits to their over 1,000 members as well as organizing special events, fundraisers and seminars. He also served as an associate director for the Eight Mile Boulevard Association where he was responsible for membership and government relations, in addition to the annual Big Four Luncheon. Weber is an Oakland County native and graduate of Oxford High School. He received his bachelor's degree from Oakland University and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Michigan.
