ST. CLAIR SHORES (WWJ) - St. Clair Shores police are investigating a shooting involving one of their own officers.

The shooting happened around 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Falcon Crest apartment complex on Little Mack south of Ten Mile Road. Police say they were called to the scene after getting a report about a suicidal man with a gun.

When officers arrived, they say the man came out of the apartment with a gun. Police say an officer fired a shot at the man after he refused to drop his weapon.

The man, who was not identified, was taken to St. Johns Hospital. His condition is unknown.

The shooting is under investigation.
