Beck Road Reopens After Accident

WIXOM (WWJ) - Beck Road near the border of Novi and Wixom has reopened after being closed for an accident investigation Thursday morning.

WWJ Traffic Reporter Bill Szumanski was over the scene of the two-car crash in the WWJ Chopper.

"In the curve on Beck Road here just south of Pontiac Trail, I'm not sure if one of the vehicles crossed over the median but they're both pretty mangled. One of them mangled so much they actually had to use the jaws of life to extract one person," said Szumanski.

Wixom police say the driver extracted from the vehicle was transported to an area hospital for treatment. It is unclear whether anyone else was injured in the crash.

Beck Road was closed for a few hours while police investigated, but has since reopened.
