Former Pediatric Dentist Found Guilty Of Sexually Assaulting Child Patient

LANSING (AP) - A former Lansing pediatric dentist has been found guilty of sexually assaulting a child patient more than a decade ago. Sixty-five-year-old Wendell Racette has been convicted of five counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and 10 counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Racette faces up to life in prison. He'll be sentenced on Sept. 19.

The Lansing State Journal reports it's the second time Racette stood trial on the charges. The first trial ended with a hung jury in December.

The boy was between the ages of 5 and 10 when the assaults occurred. He came forward in 2010.
