Fantasy Football: When To Grab A WR?

DETROIT (97.1 The Ticket) In the crucial first two picks of a fantasy football draft, Mike Stone, host of the Stoney, Bill and Sara show on 97.1 The Ticket, has his eye on two players.

"Take (Arian) Foster or (Ray) Rice," Stoney suggested to a fan at last weekend's Fantasy Football Convention in Royal Oak, adding, "I think Ray Rice is going to be unbelievable this year."

Jeff Riger of 97.1 The Ticket said he would wait to take a wide receiver until later in the draft because the position is so deep this year.

"You can still get a really good receiver later on," he said, adding, "Not to mention ... No receiver except for Reggie Wayne in the history of the NFL -- a long time, right -- has ever come back with a 1,600-yard season one year, come back to have even 1,400 yards."

Don't include Calvin Johnson in that numbers prediction, though, Stoney cautioned, interjecting, "Has any receiver had the nickname Meta-Tron before?"

Terry Foster, co-host of the Valenti & Foster show, continued the Mega-Tron love fest, saying, "When was the last time any of these running backs looked like a defensive end?' ... This is going to be the best wide receiver ever."

97.1 The Ticket will feature fantasy football video and stories from this weekend's convention all this week on CBSDetroit.com. Get complete fantasy football coverage HERE.
