HIV Positive Man Charged In Sex Assault Of Teen Boy

YPSILANTI (AP) - Police say an HIV-positive Ypsilanti man has been charged with sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy he met through an annual Christmas dinner he sponsored.

Fifty-three-year-old Leonardo Devinci Christian was arraigned Friday on multiple charges, including one count of sexual penetration with an uninformed partner when there's risk of AIDS, a felony that carries a maximum penalty of four years in prison. He remains held in the Washtenaw County Jail on $50,000 cash bond.

AnnArbor.com says police interviews with the boy revealed numerous assaults at Christian's home. Police say the assaults began in 2011 and ended last month. Police don't know whether the boy is infected with the HIV virus.

Police say Christian gave the unidentified boy and his family free tickets to the Christmas dinner he sponsors every year.
