WARREN (AP) – Warren police say a man was drunk when he struck and killed a bicyclist, then drove away.
Police say the driver was charged Wednesday with drunken driving causing death and failure to stop at a fatal accident.
Police say the fatal crash happened Monday night in the northern Detroit suburb.
In a statement, police say officers found 51-year-old Andrew Macielak of Warren injured, and he died at the scene.
The statement says officers checked the area and found the vehicle and driver suspected of hitting Macielak.
After getting results of a blood test, authorities filed charges against 47-year-old Kittisak Clayphotong of Flint. The charges carry up to 15 years in prison.
He pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Wednesday, and a judge set bond at $20,000.
