Register Now For Metropark's 'Doggie Day At The Pool'

BROWNSTOWN (WWJ) - Metro Detroit canines will gather for one last hurrah of summer this weekend during Lake Erie Metropark's "Doggie Day at the Pool."

The park's pool will be open for "dogs only" to swim or play in the water on Sunday, Sept. 9 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dog owners can escort their pets into the pool area, but will not be allowed to swim in the pool.

Sociable, friendly dogs are welcome to attend but aggressive dogs, be it to people or other pets, could be asked to leave.

Dog owners must bring proof of their pooch's current license and up-to-date rabies vaccination, and should pre-register their four-legged friend. Owners are able to register on the day of the event, but space is limited.

Admission for each dog is $5. Each dog's owner can enter for free, with a fee of $3 for each additional person age 12 and older.

A Metroparks vehicle entry permit is required to enter Lake Erie Metropark, which is $5 daily or $25 annually for regular admission.

For more information, contact the park at 734-379-5020 or visit www.metroparks.com.
