3 keys for the Lions Sunday against the St. Louis Rams:

1. The Rams have a mediocre receiving corps, Sam Bradford is not a mobile quarterback and the Rams offensive line appears to be a weakness. It is up to the Lions defensive line to take advantage of the situation with a strong pass rush.

2. Stopping Steven Jackson. If there is one player who can beat the Lions, it is the Rams’ veteran running back. He is big, exceptionally strong at the point of attack and still has surprisingly good speed for his size.

3. Protect Matthew Stafford. The Rams aren’t that strong defensively overall, but defensive end Chris Long, Howie’s kid, has developed into one of the NFL’s best pass rushers.
