Denny Mclain Thinks Dave Dombrowski Is The Tigers Problem

By: Terry Foster

Jim Leyland is not the problem. Dave Dombrowski is the biggest problem with the Tigers struggles this season.

That is the opinion of former Tiger pitcher Denny McLain who defended Leyland during an interview on 971theticket.com. He is not sure how many options Leyland has when he sets his daily lineup. But McLain proposed a stunner to shake up the lineup and propel the Tigers past the Chicago White Sox to the division title.

He wants to see Miguel Cabrera bat cleanup while Prince Fielder moves to third. He believes Fielder's batting average will get as much as a 30-point boost and believes Cabrera will hit for average and power no matter where he is in the lineup. McLain also believes that if Leyland is let go after the season then so should GM Dave Dombrowski.
You can listen to McLain's entire interview below.
