Motorcyclist Killed, Hit Multiple Times On US-23

WHITE LAKE TWP. (WWJ) - A White Lake Township man was killed after apparently losing control of his Honda motorcycle in Hartland Township.

It happened at around 10 p.m. Wednesday along southbound U-S-23 on Crouse Road, north of Hartland High School.

Police said Christopher Muncy, 53, was ejected when he lost control and landed in the left lane of the freeway, where he was hit by a car. Several other vehicles continued to strike Muncy as he lay in the road, officers said -- but no one stopped and waited for police.

Based on parts found at the scene, police said the vehicle that initially struck Muncy was a grayish or light blue Mercury that was possibly an older model Grand Marquis. The vehicle has significant front end damage and is missing the silver Mercury grill, officers said.

A woman was seen exiting a car that had initially stopped at the scene, but was gone by the time EMS arrived.

Anyone with information about the vehicle  described above is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP or Deputy Brad Neff with the Livingston County Sheriff's Department Traffic Safety Bureau at 517-540-7984.
